-
- I suppose there is that. $40 million is a bit much to fork out for an aging
- chip-set...
-
- But then again, they will also be getting the patents... They should be
- worth a bit of money...
-
- But why pay $40 million now, when they could have paid $15 million back
- when...
-
- I suppose it says something that they can actually afford $40 million -
- e.g. they are not some tin-pot crowd.
-
-
- Yes, i think they want more than just the chip-set - they had a license to
- use that anyway. I suspect they will develop it further. Maybe they will
- finish this AAA chipset (which is still very good for video/tv type work,
- and 'cheap'), and maybe the risc-3d project...
-
- If they are smart, they will pull out the stops to make the amiga the only
- (real) competitor to the bebox (PC's are for the no-brain masses). But are
- they smart ?
-
- Thats the problem: too little information.

- >sure.
-
- Na... If they do not do something far more significant than the 'walker',
- I'm off to a bebox - or something like. Many will be of the same opinion.
-
- Sure - make a low end system. But don't centre your whole straegy around
- it. Todays high-end is tomorrows low-end - and that should be the strategy.
